Great Staff - Average Establishment

We stayed in this hotel for one night prior to flying out from the Cody airport on May 26, 2009, so did not really use this facility as a vacation destination or for any extended period of time; it definitely would not have been my choice of a vacation destination. It is convenient to the Cody airport - 5 minutes drive - and other travel-related facilities such as restaurants and a few shops. The staff were helpful and I was particularly impressed when trying to print out my boarding pass for the flight. The printer would not work but night staff at the hotel allowed me to log onto their computer in the back office, so I could use the hotel's printer to obtain the printouts. Other places I have been would say that they were sorry it was out of service and leave it at that, so I was very appreciative of their efforts in this regard. In addition to the hotel rooms there were also small log cabins which would have been fun to spend a night in. The hotel was full that night with a bus party but I still felt that staff provided excellent service. There were a couple of things I did not like about the hotel - it was an older building that has been re-furbished and for the most part they did a good job but it was starting to show it's age. Also the hotel does not have an elevator, which is a real nuisance if you have wheeled suitcases to drag up a flight of stairs and no more ground floor rooms available. Also the cost - since it is an older facility I thought it was over-priced for the general standard of the accommodations.

no frig, no microwave, no breakfast, over priced compared to other hotels in the area that offer far more for less. travel agent has a limited number of area hotels in cody and after driving through we spotted several with vacancies that we would have preferred for much less. do your homework. this is nothing more than a basic chain hotel with an outdoor pool that requires nonrefundable prepayment and is not worth the cost.

The fact that this is a regular old Holiday Inn is both good and not-so-good news. It is a reliably-good place to stay that offers nothing original. It is priced a little above the mom and pop motels and delivers a little more such as in-room coffe maker, ironing board, and an air conditioner that works. The restaurant was a bonus: very good food, better than average service, real table cloths, and reasonable prices. After being on the road for a week, we ate most of our meals there because we knew the odds were that other places could not beat it.

Excellent place. Comfortable bed, plenty of GOOD pillows, real glasses and coffee mugs, great shower, HGTV and Fox News, good restaurant meals and prices, and pleasant staff. We loved it! Too bad we aren't likely to be back there anytime soon.
